hormones male sterility microscopy physiology Plant development pollen proteomics

My research is focussed on understanding the processes and mechanisms controlling flower and pollen development in angiosperms. We use floral and male-sterile mutants in tomato, canola (Brassica napus)  and Arabidopsis in our research. By using microscopic, physiological (hormonal and environmental ) and proteomic approaches we investigate the various factors, and their possible interactions, in plant developmental processes. Our research on male sterilty in tomato has application in hybrid seed industry.
