What are Level UP Learning Communities?
Level-UP Learning Communities (Level-UP) for second year students are designed to foster a sense of community among students entering their second year of studies. Level-UP will provide students with the opportunity to meet classmates in their major, learn how to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world situation, and to understand the range of research and career opportunities available to them.
Level-UP Learning Communities are small groups of second-year students who take a two to three classes together and also meet on a weekly basis in a Level-UP Hour facilitated by two Peer Mentors (upper-year students) for useful activities such as: Undergraduate research opportunities, making connections, meeting Faculty, tours of laboratories, building on academic skills required for second year courses plus, workshops for writing scientific reports and research grants
